Xiaomi will not only unveil its new Xiaomi 17 series phones at its upcoming launch event, but is also preparing to launch the Pad 8 tablet. Leaked information has given us a clearer picture of what this new tablet will offer. Here are the details.
Xiaomi Pad 8 Expected Specifications
The Pad 8, which will be the base model in Xiaomi’s updated tablet series, will slot just below the Pro model in the series. A Geekbench post confirms that the device will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8S Gen 4 processor and 12GB of RAM.
The tablet scored 1,984 in the single-core test and 6,323 in the multi-core test. While slightly behind some phones using the same chip, such as the Poco F7 or Nothing Phone (3), this is quite normal for pre-release hardware.
Xiaomi has also confirmed some key specifications in previous posts. Accordingly, the tablet will feature an 11.2-inch LCD display, 3.2K resolution, and a 144Hz refresh rate. These features suggest it’s aimed primarily at gamers and content-intensive consumers.
Powering all this hardware is a 9,200mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. Despite boasting such a powerful battery, the tablet is impressively thin at just 5.75mm and weighs 485g. This thinness and lightness puts it almost on par with the Pro version.
Other details in the leaks include a 13-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel selfie camera, a quad-speaker system, quad microphones, and a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port for faster data transfer. The device will run HyperOS 3 out of the box, allowing for more seamless integration with other Xiaomi devices.
The leaked images show the Pad 8 boasting a clean design with thin bezels and flat edges, reflecting the design language of the brand’s recent devices. The Pad 8, which will be officially unveiled later this month, could be an attractive option for those looking for an affordable tablet with powerful features.
Do you think the Xiaomi Pad 8 can make the expected impact on the tablet market with these features?
